Mariachi is a musical expression that dates back to at least the 18th century in western Mexico.

It is a tradition that can be defined by various socio-musical elements.

Mariachi instruments and textures, musical genres and subgenres, performance methods and styles, singing styles and forms, dance styles, performance space, performance clothing, and the word “Mariachi.”

Each element has its own history, originating at different points in time and in different regions of western Mexico, and some, if not all, had to converge for the mariachi tradition to become what it is.

Tuesday - Buena Chaplin

Buena Chaplin (also known as La Buena Chaplín) is an instrumental band based in Tulum, Mexico.

Their performative style blends diverse genres and rhythms — including Latin and Brazilian influences, gypsy jazz, funk, and soul — with a strong emphasis on captivating live performances.
