Mariachi is a musical expression that dates back to at least the 18th century in western Mexico.

It is a tradition that can be defined by various socio-musical elements.

Mariachi instruments and textures, musical genres and subgenres, performance methods and styles, singing styles and forms, dance styles, performance space, performance clothing, and the word “Mariachi.”

Each element has its own history, originating at different points in time and in different regions of western Mexico, and some, if not all, had to converge for the mariachi tradition to become what it is.

Experience the ultimate live reggae night in Tulum with sunset vibes on the Caribbean Sea at the iconic Ziggy’s Beach Club Tulum – one of the best beach clubs in Tulum for authentic roots reggae and irie energy.

As the golden sunset paints the sky over Tulum’s white-sand beach, Brazilian-Mexican multi-instrumentalist JapaDirty13 and his band The Most High Reggae take the stage.
